Goodbye to my toxic boss

I made a post the other day about how I finally left my toxic boss and job after my boss put me on a “performance plan” and the company offered me a package to leave instead of the performance plan. Anyway, my boss never once talked to me about the performance plan or package deal. They acted as if nothing was happening. When I agreed to the package with HR, I didn’t even tell my boss because of how weird they were acting. My boss was notified of my decision and scheduled some meetings for us to discuss the transition of my work. Not once did my boss have a conversation with me about the fact that I was leaving or anything. It was all purely transactional about work. No thank you, nothing (not that I would expect it). On my last day, my boss avoided me the entire day…

On my last day, my boss avoided me the entire day in the office. Said nothing to me whatsoever. When HR removed my computer access, they said I was free to leave. My boss was hiding out somewhere in the office, so I said goodbye to all of my nice coworkers who were at their desks and then I left.

What a giant fucking coward they were. It’s laughable really that a boss can’t even fake being sad I was leaving or give me a phony ‘thanks for everything’.

Companies need to really understand who they promote as people managers because these bosses out here have 0 people skills. Good riddance honestly!
