Got a “fully remote”job. Turns out it is max 2 weeks outside of my country due to “EU regulations”

Hi all, last month I got employed remotely with a Germany company. The job ad was “fully remote” within EU, which was exactly what I wanted. Never once during the hiring process anybody mentioned any time limits. After the onboarding only I discovered that the company limits to 2 weeks per year any work from outside my country (Poland) or theirs (Germany) due to “EU regulations”. They fail to mention what these are. I have been employed with other companies that allowed up to 3 months of working within any EU country without issues. Plus, the current company hinted that I could talk with my manager to see if these 2 weeks could be increased. I smell bullshit. Can't find anything about any time limits for EU workers (I am a EU national) outside of issues with the income tax if you spend more than 180 days in a country…

Hi all,

last month I got employed remotely with a Germany company.

Can't find anything about any time limits for EU workers (I am a EU national) outside of issues with the income tax if you spend more than 180 days in a country different than yours (which I don't plan to).

My next year's plans would be to be a soft digital nomad within EU and thought that this job would fit. The pay is good and work isn't stressing but this 2 weeks limit is a huge roadblock for me. Any suggestions on how to handle this situation?
