So I finally got termination letter today saying my employment will be terminated next Tuesday. I kind of knew it was coming for awhile, but it finally happened today. It is it common for companies to give advance notice for a firing? and not a layoff? I understand getting notices for layoffs, but usually firings were effective that same day I thought.
Seems kind of messed up I have to work another week before I'm officially fired. If I choose to not really work for another week. Can the company hold that against me in unemployment benefits? Is there even a reason to continue to work until I'm officially fired?
