Got Job on an assembly line at Amazon & they tried to make me clean their toilets.

This is not my story but my grand nephew's: He just got hired down in Orange County California at an Amazon warehouse for 18.00 an hour to work on the assembly line. He was still in “training” for the hired position, when they pulled him and 3 others' out to clean all the restrooms. Absolutely NOT part of the job description, all 4 quit on the spot. Why would they do this? He was hired with a group of about 20 and on the first day less than a third even showed up for the job, why would they do this to the ones who did show up? Doesn't Amazon have janitors? Was it to punish or humiliate? I do not understand this business model.
