I was a contact salary employee at a small engineering firm. I missed a couple hours of work due to medical appointments. They gave me a paycheck Wednesday with money taken out of it for being at the Drs. I requested a meeting with my boss and the owner of the company and informed him that as a salary worker he can not deduct partial day absences due to medical reasons and that he owed me money for the hours he deducted. He obliged and gave me a new check the next day. I was then fired today for “stepping on the owners toes.” Gotta love asking for my money only to be fired.
The owner also had issues with me bringing in my service dog because that meant his wife (who's hr) couldn't bring in her very untrained dog that tries to attack ups men.
And at the sales meeting that I attended this week the owner said “our vendors are like ugly girls at prom. They just want us.” And thought that was okay.
Edit. A few other fun things that have been said.
“Don't bring that bullshit in here.” -when being told something he said wasn't politically correct.
“Affirmative action is fucking stupid, why would I hire a black person over a white guy.”
“My wife punched me in the face, she's a fiesty one.”
“My son has a partner so we're not discriminatory here against gay people”
