Too many little “Surprises”

I recently got a job packing food for a small-ish company through a temp agency. The terms were 9-6:30 mon-fri with possible overtime for a dollar over minimum wage here. The orientation included the manager telling me that fridays were actually 9-1 cleaning and not mandatory. Fine. I was put in my work area that day, expecting to leave at 6:30 and was promptly told that I wasn't hired to work until 6:30, but rather, until the job was done for the day. I told them that I had somewhere to be so I had to leave. The next few days, I left at 4:30, 5, 5:20 because there wasn't enough work to cover until the end of my shift. I'm not especially bent about this, but yeah, the schedule is messy. I planned a trip with my partner this friday and was met with demands for a meeting on…

I told them that I had somewhere to be so I had to leave. The next few days, I left at 4:30, 5, 5:20 because there wasn't enough work to cover until the end of my shift. I'm not especially bent about this, but yeah, the schedule is messy. I planned a trip with my partner this friday and was met with demands for a meeting on friday, for one hour. I take public transit, and there's no way that I'd travel 2 hours round-trip to go to a one-hour meeting
