Got offered a coupon because there was no budget for commuting costs

I recently interviewed for a position at an airport lounge. Pretty basic position, friendly interview and so on. Long story short, I got home and did the math with my expenses, and I figured after living costs I would be coming out at around 100 net positive a month working full-time. I have been out of work for a while now, so against my better judgetment I am really keen to get at least some ball rolling. I decide to call the interviewer back and ask if they support transport costs for commuting as the airport is 20km out of my city, and the monthly ticket for my city is 100€. The interviewer asks his boss then let's me know they support petrol costs for people driving, but not someone using public transport (which also perplexes the shit out of me, but whatever, r/fuckcars). The interviewer is apologetic about it,…

The interviewer is apologetic about it, but then offers me a 5€ Amazon gift card as compensation.

I am just sitting there like, what? I pay over 100€ a month while my coworkers get petrol money, and your bandaid on the gunshot wound is a 5€ Amazon gift card? I asked him to tell his management I don't see this as an equitable solution for me to work a job barely above minimum wage. I asked him to bump up the salary but there was no response. So all in all, I wasted a bunch of time and money pissing into the wind
