I work at a pizza restaurant inside of a mall food court. I was serving two women and asked if they wanted to make their meal a combo with a side of pasta and bread sticks. They just look at each other and say to me “No thanks if you couldn’t tell we’re fat enough as it is”. I just say ok and we just awkwardly stare at each other until I hand them their slices of pizza.
My manager saw the interaction and took me to the back to explain to me that I should’ve told them that I don’t think they’re fat and told me to always laugh at a customers joke so as to not make them feel uncomfortable. He told me next time he doesn’t see it he’s writing me up. There have been times where I’ve had middle aged women tell me I’m handsome and despite that making me feel uncomfortable I have to take it and thank them. Shit is so lame lmao
