It's a cleaning job in a warehouse. It can get from 80° to 95° with high humidity. I mop, sweep, and scrub the entire floor every day. Do trash clean under the floor pallets.
The workers are awesome tho. The supervisors who do the same work or have in the past are the chill ones who understand.
The 4th floor has ac. And the production rooms have ventilation.
And the warehouse has nothing except 2 big fans and thats it. They're only in ONE CORNER of a WAREHOUSE.
It's humid and hot. I have to pull heavy pallets with shitty pallet jacks. I finish ALL OF MY WORK. I sit down every now and then to replace my gloves, drink water, and to do paperwork. And surprise…. yes, sometimes on my phone, but I didnt get a “get off your phone” it was “DON'T SIT”.
I ALSO WORK ALONE NO ONE IS WITH ME IN THE WAREHOUSE AFTER 1ST SHIFT LEAVES. So it's not a “bad impression on coworkers”.
And they got mad at me.
It's disrespectful. Nothing along the lines of “Hey we appreciate you doing all of your work, but please try not to sit as much” it was “you sit too much.”.
The cleaning supervisor that was congratulating me on my work ethic a week ago was siding with management today.
Also 12 call offs per year. No nightshift premium. Mold and flies in the cleaning section. Terrible floor to ceiling pallet stacking(off center or leaning). Building structure issues. Etc. They don't have a leg to stand on.
I put in my 2 weeks today. Forgetting to realize that the contract I signed has “fire for any reason” clause. So yeah no good ending.
