Here is the uncut email I got minus my name and the name of the company.
“Thank you for your interest in our position.
We were overwhelmed by the number of applications we reviewed and were not able to interview all of the applicants.
We prioritized those whose qualifications most closely aligned with our needs and who were in the New York area and available to start soon.
We have now hired an excellent person who will join the agency soon.

Perhaps our paths will cross again.”
I feel like this is a very gratuitous rejection email… but I found out they treat their employees horribly, so I guess I dodged a bullet.
