got yelled at and written up for having a fever.

i work with kids. little kids, ages 2-3 and i literally cannot attend work with a fever. yes, it's shitty and inconvenient to call out shortly before your shift, but i was in an exhausted daze and had assumed i could sleep the sickness off. i called out and got actually yelled at by my supervisor, like i was some sort of stupid child and not a colleague. she said something about how i “can't keep doing this”, when the last time i needed to call out i did so several hours before my shift and no one ever informed me that i was supposed to do anything differently. she informed me i should have called her personal number the night before and told me she was going to write me up for this offense. because i didn't think it was appropriate to call her at her personal number way…

the job search starts anew because as much as i love these kids, i completely refuse to work for a place that is so okay with being so disrespectful, especially in a time of LaBoR sHoRtAgE. i hate working, but EVERYWHERE is hiring and plenty will pay more than 14/hr. so, i hope she's pleased with herself at losing a dedicated, hard working employee who had one bad day with bad timing.
