So I was trying to help a co-worker with immigration stuff, and I come to learn that you can't get citizenship if you make more than $17.31 an hour. A lot of minimum wages are around the $15.00 mark, and they're paid $17.00 an hour, but they won't let him proceed without a new work contract that says he's making above $17.31.
Isn't that kind of ironic? Like the government knows minimum wage isn't enough to live off of and requires new citizens to make more.
