Grand dad died in the morning. Boss asks to carry laptop and send emails or face his wrath upon return

During peak Covid, I struggled a lot to find work. Nobody was willing to hire. Found the job through a family connection at the company. During peak Covid, I struggled a lot to find work. Nobody was willing to hire. Found the job through a family connection at the company. Within one month, realized the boss is a complete a****** shouting at the team in front of everyone to assert “dominance” over his new found power.

Grandfather passed away early morning on 5th Jan, 2021 in my hometown. I was in a different city working. Boss's response when I tell him I need a day off – “Please take your laptop along and work to avoid grief on your way back”, which my stupid ass did as I did not have a job for almost a year before I got this one.

Won't name the company, but it is a massive housing finance in India.

Found a job within January, got the offer to work within my hometown and complete work from home, resigned and felt so happy.

I absconded in month 2 of a 3 month mandatory notice period too as the boss was still being a b**** on not letting me go, and keeping me the least paid in a team of freshers when I held over 4 years over the newbies.
