Guilt from leaving a staff event early

I just started working at a college as an hourly employee. We work 8-5 and I was told to attend this end of the year staff/faculty event because one of my bosses was getting recognized. It went until 5:30 and I didn't really feel like staying because we weren't getting paid for it and couldn't make up for it, but I didn't want to start shit because I'm new. We hadn't even gotten to my boss yet, so I felt a little guilty as we left and my two bosses were just looking at me. Now I'm worried they are gonna think I'm not a team player and it was only half an hour so it shouldn't have been a big deal. Plus the other guy in my position stayed. I'm glad I was home on time but I feel guilty cause it was only half an hour
