Hair colors shouldn’t affect my ability to get a job

I've recently have been getting interviews (genuinely shocked) and I went for one on Tuesday at a very busy medical place. While the woman was kind, she mentioned fashion hair color isn't allowed, and if I got the position I'd have to dye it back to a 'natural' color. Hair color shouldn't impact the way I do my job. If I speak eloquently, remain articulate and professional in the work place, it shouldn't matter whether my hair is an indigo purple or a dark brown. “I don't know if thats a deal breaker for you…” I answered not particularly, then as an additional question I asked their stance on medical marijuana. They're fine with that. Yet I can't have my hair done how I'd like? Follicles of hair shouldn't dictate employment.
