I work in banking. Yesterday was our company costume contest and each branch and department could participate. The department reps directly over our branches decided to wear a group costume related to Covid.
A branch employee did not like this so this morning, he posted this message in our company social media:
Imagine being a Corporate Executive
who's so wildly out of touch that you
wear a coronavirus costume to work,
totally disregarding the impact of said virus on your employees, their family & friends, their coworkers, and the members they serve. You fully ignore the added stress of
dealing with difficult members who
complain about wearing masks & not
being able to access the restrooms, all the while branch staff makes sure to regularly clean & sanitize the branch in an effort to keep their workplace safe for no additional pay.All for the sake of wearing an “edgy”
costume to work.
Just imagine…
I understand and agree with his statement but some of my friends do not. Is it really being “too sensitive” to not like their costumes?
Edit: the employee’s message was immediately deleted but the photos of the costumes were also removed. However, the costumes were posted to our company Facebook page. Not sure if they were removed there.
