I’m not working on Sunday. Been an all around amazing experience at the new job until today. Manager slacks me my schedule for entire quarter, I have to FRIDAY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 11-730!
So this on its face is not necessarily what irks me, but the fact that during the interview process I was led to believe that there would have been a discussion prior to the end of training about scheduling. This I find to be extremely disrespectful, not even to be handed it in person and basically told this is when you will be here for the next 3 months.
I have never, ever experienced this in any position I have held prior to this. At the very very very least I have been given something to write preferences onto, even if they’re not honored. (Unless it’s M-F 8 hrs) Not in retail, not in service, never. There is not even a pretense that they give a shit about what schedule you’d like.
I am so pissed off about this. I will not work Sundays and this is not behavior I expect out of a professional environment. I am talented and hard working and I have a good looking resume.
This is in logistics and I understand there is a necessity to have someone on 24/7/365, but to not even have any communication on this front is beyond me. I cannot understand how you simply just assign people these shifts with ZERO consideration for what they have in their lives. I feel like I’ve been slapped in the face. I know there are people on this sub who deal with far worse situations and I don’t want to diminish those experiences, but this seriously frustrates me, especially because there was 2 months between now and my prior job.
Edit: I did slack my manager requesting a change here, I will post updates as they come.
