My job is going to be advertised soon. I have to write an application and go to an interview. I’ve been in the job for about a year, and in the industry for far longer, but still have terrible imposter syndrome and am not very good at interviews.
There is someone who has started wiht our team about 6 months ago, and another newer person who will both probably go for it as well. They have very different jobs, but I feel like both of them have a better chance than I do, because their personalities mean they will interview better than me.
It’s the first formal application I’ve had to do for government so I’m already at a disadvantage, although I have an advantage from having been in the job for a year.
I can do the job, I’ve been doing a great job for a year but all of a sudden I have to write an application and go to an interview with people I KNOW on the panel to prove that I can do the job I’m already doing.
I hate this.
I’m really nervous that I’m going to end up unsuccessful and without a job just because they’ve decided it needs to be advertised to make it permanent.
