So, if we take the idea floated around of a Universal Basic Income that doesn't cover everything, keep the minimum wage in place (hopefully increase it, but we also shouldn't drop it), and the two combine to get a living wage, we have both given a counter to the “No one will work” argument while also allowing people to be less stressed in low-paying jobs because of the pay. In response to “who will pay for this,” we could cut the bloated and obfuscated Defense Budget in half or remove tax dodges that only the wealthy can actually use.
