Have to come in earlier.

Spoken to my manager who's on the road today, at 8am and the first thing he said to me was “You have to start coming in earlier mate. It's the sales team ethos, you're letting the team down”. I asked “Why” and laughed. For context, I work 10 minutes away and start at 8 so I'm at my desk for 7:59. He works 90 minutes away and starts at 8 so he's here at 6:45. Bonus context, I've had 3 emails so far this week and been told not to answer the phone. What does he want me to come in early for? I'm not doing unpaid labour.
