I work for a company that contracts me out to one of biggest tech company in the world. I found out that the company itself pays people in the same position that I'm in, 100k a year plus 30k bonuses and I make pennies compared to that. I've been promoted really fast to a way higher position and I managed to make 1$ more an hour… My position essentially is to maintain their 10 million a year contracts with the biggest companies in the world to use their products like databases and servers. I'm the “face” of their company attending virtual meetings with the highest of high ranked people in companies around the world and bending over backwards for them to keep the contracts. After bills and living expenses I might have 150$ left to live on for the remainder of the time until my next paycheck. I've been working remote and now they're pushing me and my collogues to go back in office which is really far away because they spent 15 million to build the new building and never offered us incentives to drive that far back and forth every single day. I know if I stick to this toxic bullshit contractor company for a year or so ill be able to get hired in directly with the actual company but as of now, if they make us go back in office, with gas prices they way they are, I wont be able to afford food. I live in the ghetto dump of my city and never buy anything for myself anymore because I can't afford it. I fucking hate this country.
