Have you consider getting a roommate?

Was what my supervisor asked me, a single 28-year-old living alone in a one-bedroom apartment when I told her I needed more money to build my savings. “When I moved to a new city, I only had $1,000.” (Which was probably 20+ years ago, when she wasn’t making a 6 figure salary.) “There’s a salon downtown that might hire you part-time.” “You chose to work here.” “You’re making more than entry-level at my other company.” (I’m making less than I did as a part-time server) On Monday, I’m telling her to remove me from salary and place me part time so that I can pass on my managing responsibilities to someone else. This is my first job out of college and my workload has increased a lot since bought on full time, and they want us to work 50 hours a week. Over the exploitation!
