Having a hard time finding other emplyoment

So, I work at Starbucks. It's pretty rough. From hours being cut and resulting in what seems like being short staffed to me being assaulted 2 weeks ago while working, I just don't think I can do it much longer. I do very much enjoy being a barista and working at a coffee shop! I have started applying other places and it seems that they look down on me and don't think I am not “real barista”. Heres the thing, I have 15 years of customer service. I am a fucking joy no matter how shitty you are to me. I could probably do customer service training seminars Im that awesome at dealing with the public. I also learn so fucking fast. I was awarded partner of the quarter! So, anyways, to get to the point… One shop I applied at responded so coldly, asking if that is the only…

Heres the thing, I have 15 years of customer service. I am a fucking joy no matter how shitty you are to me. I could probably do customer service training seminars Im that awesome at dealing with the public. I also learn so fucking fast. I was awarded partner of the quarter! So, anyways, to get to the point… One shop I applied at responded so coldly, asking if that is the only experience I have. Like, me being able to make drinks in less than a minute, WHILE STAYNG A CHEERY, BADASS BITCH, isn't a qualification. They just stopped responding to me. The job is still posted almost a month later. They reposted the position 4 days ago. I just felt like, How rude… they should really know they could have filled that position already had they been willing to at least meet me.

I decided to send an email letting them know what I thought and felt and I wanted to share it with you all.

Good Afternoon!

I'm just following up because I see the position is still posted. I'm assuming you do not wish to continue talking with me. I just wanted to share that while hiring someone with years of barista experience is desired on your part, there are people who are not only willing to learn but are very quick and excel in customer service. I have 6 months of barista experience in a shop that expects stellar customer service as well as being extremely quick, efficient as well as making espresso drinks correctly and with care. I have been awarded partner of the quarter in less than a year of employment for my positive attitude, willingness to go above and beyond what is required of me and being a strong member of a team.

I think it's a shame that you responded with what felt like coldness and no interest in trying to get to know me outside of an email. If you had taken the time to speak with me I feel you would have been impressed and far more interested in considering employment. How do you expect anyone to gain experience if you aren't willing to train them? I am a barista and would be very quick to train. Every new employee needs training when working somewhere new, no matter how much experience they have.

I feel it's unfortunate because I was a regular customer as I loved the coffee, food and the motto this company claims to live by. I now feel that I would rather support other coffee shops in the area.

Thank you for your time
