Help, advise??

My Finance Director has asked me several times about an arrest in 2018. This was prior to working at this business, it was a misdemeanor which was dismissed in October of 2018. My employer did not inquire about the charges and the Finance Director has shared it with my co-workers which are his subordinates. I have had three co-workers tell me they were not aware and only knew because of him. One co-worker stated that (FD) was at dinner with the co-workers mom and another employee. This co-worker stated it came up in conversation and then he was asked to get more information about it from me. I was informed by an additional co-worker that the news article was pulled up on the internet and shown by the (FD). My co-worker stated the (FD) said it is public knowledge so he can show it. I have now had several co-workers ask me about and it has caused social-isolation and some verbal attacks from co-workers. I have stated it was a misdemeanor for Delinquency of a Juvenile. The article states that a teacher and students had inappropriate text messages. I have shown my co-workers the court documents that it was allowing a juvenile to use obscene or vile language. The (FD) is now using it to intimidate me. Although, dismissed in 2018 he repeatedly has said “the article looks bad” and “how do I know your not a rapist”? I have tried to be polite and state a news article is not a charge and again it is a dismissed misdemeanor. I now have been asked about it by our receptionist as well as other department staff. Regardless, of it being dismissed and a misdemeanor, a co-worker while we were in the break room with other staff made the comment that he was told that I am a sex offender. The behavior is growing more aggressive to where female staff were told not to talk to me and openly said to me by co-workers inappropriate texts means sex and I must have slept with students. It is now impacting my work performance and my feelings of safety. Is there a legal action for him sharing with my peers and the negative actions towards me when I do not have a convicted criminal record and it was submitted to be expunged at the start of this year.
