So I got a job offer back in July that I was supposed to start this week in which I have already signed by me and the new employer, but a week later in July they changed their mind because the person who was supposed to train me happened to be away. So they got me to sign another offer letter a week later to start. So I'm supposed to start this Monday 19th. Unfortunately the Queen passed away and our UK government made this day a bank holiday to mark our respects. The employer is now telling me, this was yesterday btw, Friday, less than 2 days that they want me to start on Tuesday because of the bank holiday, and wants me to sign a 3rd offer letter. Their reason being they have technical issues to start me that day as no one is working that day. I said that is fine, as long they pay me the day that I'm losing out on. They said they can't do that. I have already left my last job and budgeted my new work income to start this Monday as agreed. I haven't signed the new offer letter, he told me over the phone if I don't sign then I cannot start. Their first week is remote training before being on-site the 2nd week and onwards. What should I do? I just turn up? any advise would be very much appreciated.
