Hello everyone I work for an insurance company that will remain unnamed as an adjuster. Recently our company and others have had huge mass layoffs, so the climate is to let people go where they can. My position is not a remote position but it almost is with us only having to report in office twice a month. I am kinda new (4 months in) so I haven’t been given that yet and rn only get to wfh on Fridays. Thursday I was kicked out of my home & I rented a room in my friends home which is 2 hours away from my work. I could drive there those 2 days out of the month no problem. When I presented my manager with the situation she said she’d ask her boss who would ask HR. Then she told me that they don’t allow people to wfh that early & that they suggest I resign or they will say I abandoned my position. I don’t want to resign but I don’t want to be marked for abandonment either! What should I do??
