need help
I was offered a position as a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens this month and I applied without hesitation. The interview, background check, drug screening all felt like a breeze, went by so quick. The shift was 3PM-11PM, which is pretty good as a college student since my classes are in the morning. The interviewer was also aware of my expired license.
I went to my orientation on the 19th, apparently my name wasn’t even listed down on the sign-in sheet because the link to reserve was never emailed to me. Only the orientation date was. The guy says it happens sometimes so I brushed it off and wrote my name down anyways.
By the end of the orientation, I followed instructions on renewing my license for pharmacy tech, which is expected to show up in a week or so.
I went up to the worker who showed us the presentation (I believe she’s my manager now?). I asked if I could come by tomorrow at 12:00 PM since I have to take a test in the morning. She told me “Actually I think you’re supposed to start on October 3rd?” She seemed questionable about it, then asked for my email and number, which confused me because I thought my info already with them. She said “I’ll give you a call and let you know”. She never called.
I woke up the next morning to contact them early. I asked a different worker if I’m supposed to come in for the orientation today by noon or if I’m supposed to start on the 3rd. He said “Just come by noon today”.
I went, and they didn’t have my login info printed out yet. I waited every now and then while they recollected my info. so after setting a new password, they noticed on the account, my date to start was actually “October 3rd” the employees seemed just as lost, and kept leaving the computer to talk to the manager
The manager checked on my info, then told me “The system doesn’t have all your info yet. I’ll update and call you everyday(? Idk why everyday lol). You will get paid for yesterday and today, your paycheck will be deposited a week after October 3rd(got confused here too, why is there a delay?). Don’t come by tomorrow though, I’ll call you and update”.
I’m so lost. They don’t even have my info to direct deposit. I’m not sure what to expect right now. Is it cause they’re waiting for my license to renew?
The other employees I recognized at the orientation are already starting to set up their accounts and other important stuff. I feel so left out lol
