So a bit of back story.
I work in retail and I've been at my job for about 6 years and am currently a supervisor. I get paid very little, (less than 40p over minimum wage for alot of extra duties) which was fine at first because experience etc. I always thought I had a good relationship with the people at work BUT
About a month ago I was on a week off, when i came back I was instantly told I'd never be promoted further (had spoke to my manager about it before my holiday) because someone else had been promoted to a supervisor as well. What didn't help is I was feeling abit off due to the holiday wrecking my sleep schedule and I was coming down with flu. I did vent a little to the other supervisor because I thought we were friends, mentioned the shit pay and maybe looking for a new job but that was mainly because I was so exhausted (sleep schedule and flu).
That week I noticed my manager been abit off with me and her and the supervisor would act all secretive around me, i have a feeling he told her about me wanting to quit etc, which again I was just venting and not actually looking into it.
I was then off for 3 weeks sick due to the flu and a throat infection.
My first day back was yesterday and in the morning when my boss when to get my return to work forms I heard the supervisor say “….well I guess the soon they leave the better” I didn't hear what my boss said before after.
I'm lost on what to do. I've given alot of time and effort to this job(working days off/ holidays etc) but I feel like Im being pushed out.
Any advice would be great, I have no idea what to do, I've had quick looks for new jobs but can't seem to find anything and as a supervisor for like 3 years I don't really want to start over at a new retail as a general worker and if a new job is the only way how can I go out in a blaze of glory?
