Helping a coworker negotiate a pay raise

We’ve discussed it ad nauseam. Hiring budgets are higher than retention budgets. I am a relatively new hire at my company and I’m still learning my job. We were short staffed for various reasons for a while so it took me a while to get my feet under me. I have a coworker who has been a lifesaver helping me learn the minutiae of my job. She’s also licensed. Apart from that we hold the same job. I’ve held the job in general longer but she’s worked for the company longer. And I make $3000 more a year than she does. I advised her to solicit letters of recommendation from people that she has worked with particularly managers. Obviously I engaged in a frank discussion about our salaries with her without getting too specific. How else can I help her cause it’s bullshit. It’s not that I don’t think I’m…
