Higher pay is not enough for retail or fastfood workers. God damn respect is required.

I’ve heard a lot of grumbling lately that fastfood workers are acting lazy or worse than before. And the common solution is “minimum wage minimum effort.” It’s not just the pay. It’s the job. Even if they started paying fastfood workers 25 dollars an hour, I think the morale or “work ethnic” would still be low. These are jobs where they often never give breaks or treat you like a burden for using your breaks. You get yelled at by your manager and then customers treat you like literal fucking garage. Like the scum off the bottom of their shoes and you’re forced to smile. You’re forced to stand even if there’s no reason to. You’re working terrible hours and inconsistently at that. You’re told by everyone that it’s a teenagers job or not a real job. You’re often degraded and forced to follow stupid rules. (No drinks, bad uniforms,…

So no. Pay is not enough for people to stop acting miserable while being treated like shit to make a billionaire richer.
