Home Depot asking salaried workers to volunteer to work black Friday…

Not asking anyone to cry for the salaried workers, we do ok, but so is Home Depot, still with record profits. They are asking salaried workers to volunteer, mainly on our own time, to come in to work the black friday period in the stores. I may be misunderstanding it, but it appears they are trying to fill gaps that they could fill by offering higher hourly wages to hire new employees, or high enough wages for existing employees, so they would work the overtime, to fill the store. Been an interesting environment since the previous CFO of 21 years retired. Not sure it’s even the same company. They are trying to make money now by cutting corners, instead of innovating. That works for a few quarters, then c-level staff start jumping for their golden parachutes.
