Honestly, why can’t workplaces just have conference rooms as their offices, remove all workstations and instead use that money to bump up employee’s salary?

Its a global reset. Not just the pandemic, but the advent of 4 day workweek is making it apparent that employees don’t really need to come down to offices. I’m almost sure that almost nobody is ever interested in office parties or events and are just there to skip some boring agendas. Seriously, if we’re propelling towards better work-life balance, I seriously don’t see the point of offices holding office spaces in peak areas like midtown NYC or similar. Why not use that money to bump up employee’s salary? They’d be better off.
