Mechanic – got a new manager, him and I talked forever before he moved up about things that needed changed. He gets the job, puts me in a position to middle-manage, help the whole shop out, train the new guys, etc. This was frowned upon by one guy who swayed the entire shop against me, for doing the job I was asked to do.
Doors shut in my face, yelling at me in meetings, disrupting my work, without ever giving examples of what I did wrong, or what could be different. So I’m just consistently confused as to what steps I can and can’t take without my head getting bit off by the new fad of disliking me.
Management can’t fix this, or HR, and I know I won’t make this type of money somewhere else, so I stay in my lane to make money for my family. I dread every day, but at least I can do it with headphones in.
