Housing as a basic right

Home values have went up so far that even single people making $25 an hour wouldn’t qualify for most homes. And the mindset scares me when people respond to these statements with “go to trade school, go to coding boot camp, just get a better job” We aren’t going to have 300 million coders and trades people walking around… We will always have front line people at the grocery stores, in warehouses, janitors, garbage men, all folks who play a vital role in keeping society functioning yet many of these people have to live with other adults in some fashion to survive. Have people in the upper middle class and upper class gotten that out of touch with reality on what it takes to survive? And telling folks they need to cut back on “luxuries” such as internet and nextflix…like that would make a difference anyway What it takes to…

What it takes to survive independently without government or family help is out of reach for millions and front line wage workers are $10+ an hour away from a true living wage. When does the madness end?
