I believe in the US, there are a handful of states where they are unenforceable, but for the most part, they’re allowed. What an incredible advantage this gives an employer. I just received one as part of a job offer that’s so all-encompassing, I essentially wouldn’t be able to work at all in my industry in any country for two years after separating from the company. I’m the breadwinner in my family, how exactly would that work in a way that I could feed my kids? They obviously couldn’t care less. How is a non-disclosure not enough??
