How can I be a good employer?

I recently started my own engineering company and the business has really taken off. I am the only employee and recently left my old job in the same field, because my boss was terrible, my hours were long, and my pay wasn’t great. I learned a lot of lessons about what not to be as a boss at my old job. My boss would frequently talk to me in a condescending manner, was extremely disorganized—resulting in hours of unpaid overtime for me, did not like me taking PTO, and did not allow me to talk to clients or step into leadership roles. As my business grows and I look towards hiring for the first time, I want to incorporate these lessons to be a good boss. This sub has opened my eyes to tons of legitimate issues in the American workforce. I want to offer good pay, no overtime/paid overtime…

This sub has opened my eyes to tons of legitimate issues in the American workforce. I want to offer good pay, no overtime/paid overtime if necessary, good benefits, flexible working schedule, remote work, and percentage based profit sharing for projects employees bring in.

What are other ways I can be a good employer?
