How do I gracefully quit after manager called me the r-slur?

I (f18) have only been working for a pizza chain i live by for a month. I don’t have very much work experience and i’m not a very confrontational person so i’m sorry if this feels like it should be intuitive. There are six managers and one GM. I like most of the managers and really like the GM, she calls all the younger employees her little chicks and often makes us pizza buns with ingredients in the kitchen. There’s a manager that I don’t like because he’s aggressive. He comes into the kitchen to talk about his hookups, yells at us, and when its busy instead of helping on the line he sits in the corner of the room to haze us all with a megaphone.

One evening while working with him i messed up a pizza. I put the wrong sauce on. Crusts are made to order by size and since he was on crust duty i had to tell him i messed up and ask him to make me a new crust. He called me a fucking idiot and the r slur. I don’t think he called me that knowing i was autistic. Still, this was kind of the last straw for me so i asked one of my coworkers who handles scheduling and she said to talk to the GM.

I don’t like telling people that I’m autistic. I can do all of the jobs that the pizza place asks me to do so I decided not to tell them when i was hired. When i texted my GM that night i told her that I didn’t want to be scheduled with that manager anymore, and when she said she needed details in order to do that, i told her that he called me the r-slur but not why it upset me so much.

I thought that she wanted details to build a case, but when i went in for my next shift i was pulled aside. My coworker had asked my GM if i had come and talk to her yet and she thought it was because i had gossiped to my coworker when instead it was just because i asked her what i should do, and she cared about me. My GM told me that this was not an appropriate response and that while she had talked to the manager about his behavior, now that i had stirred the pot by gossiping she couldn’t guarantee that the manager wouldn’t confront me about it. I asked her if i would be scheduled with the manager again and she said that the manager works six nights a week and if I switched my availability to day shift she would probably have to lay me off. Everyone had switched their availability to day in order to avoid that manager. When i asked her why she kept him if nobody wanted to work with him, she said “let me be honest with you” and told me that he was the worst person she’s ever hired but that he was her project. She said that she has been shaping him to be a better, kinder person ever since he started working and that once he approached her and thanked her for giving him another chance because nobody ever did. She told me if she can have us both working together successfully and if I can get to know him better, then she’ll be teaching me to work with difficult people in the future. (This kind of hurt because i was bullied a lot in high school, and it was very hard for me to stand up for myself by telling the GM what the manager had said to me.)

I agreed to work with that manager instead of getting laid off and I found another job. I will be leaving a place that hired and trained me really quickly because they are super understaffed, and because my leave is so sudden, i’m sure the GM will know it’s because of that manager/the conversation. What is the most elegant way to quit? The last job i quit, it was because i was moving and i gave them two months advance notice. What do i do here so that I don’t screw over the people i liked?
