How do I interview while working in a full time office job with strict hours?

I have been looking for jobs (currently in a bad work environment) and interviewing. My issue is that I find it really hard to interview because my job has strict 8-5 hours where I’m expected to be in the office 5 days a week. My boss doesn’t give much leniency. This basically eliminates the possibility of interviewing since everyone operates on normal business hours. I have 10 days of PTO off per year and that means I could do 20 interviews with the time I’d need to take off, assuming I don’t get sick or take other holidays. I hate taking time off for interviews that end up ghosting me and don’t even follow through on the meeting time, which happened yesterday. I had 2 interviews and took half a day off because I have a 40 minute commute each way. One of the companies ghosted me, even after a follow up email and didn’t show up to the interview.

Before getting this job I probably did 30 first round interviews. I work in marketing. Any advice? How do you guys navigate this?
