How do you calculate your work time?

Hi folks, All of my previous jobs are paid per hour, I've recently got a job that pays set amount monthly. And I'm very confused how do I calculate my work time. Every end of the month I have to enter a timesheet that is shared to everyone else, and since it's an open space office, people can see when you come and leave. So yesterday I took half a day off, still came to office but only for 4 hours then leave very early and my boss was there. So I put in the timesheet 0.5 for yesterday. But my colleague said dont worry about the timesheet, just put in full hours, it's more about the jobs you do than the hours you're in office. TBH, my role is a supporting role for physicians, so I havent got much to do. My work only consumes 1-2 hours a day,…

Hi folks,

All of my previous jobs are paid per hour, I've recently got a job that pays set amount monthly.

My work only consumes 1-2 hours a day, the rest of the day is finding something to do. I've asked for more work, but nothing much. I try to be here everyday, while many others work from home. Sometimes they take time off but still put in full hours. I cant argue on that because they have lots of tasks assigned to them that require very specific skills. What would you do in this case?
