Out of about twenty underpaid workers (nursing home) nobody has reciprocated any grievances about low pay/poor work conditions and minimal care for the poor elderly people who live there. They just sort of get a far off stare when I try to start a discussion and that’s it. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.
What makes people just passively accept poor working conditions and not even discuss it? Is it fear, complacency, obliviousness, or something else?
My company has an astounding turnover rate so I know people aren’t happy there. Just surprised everything is so systematic and nobody seems to have anything to say about it.
