I work 50-80 hrs a week as a house manager for people with intellectual disabilities. But I only get paid for 40, and don’t even make $23/hr. My job is extremely stressful as it is as I manage 3 homes, so adding direct care coverage on top of that is mind blowing. Obviously they need someone to care for them, so if my employees call out, and no one else is willing to cover, it lands on me. How is this shit pay legal? I hate my life and hope it will end soon. I don’t have any other skills to change carrier paths and still afford to pay my bills.
