Father passed away unexpectedly mid April of this year and our estate documentation recently got approved. I live in California and he was from Connecticut. I requested a personal unpaid leave of absence to take care of my fathers affairs and its been exactly one week since submitting the information (submitted on 06/28). I sent a follow up email two days after on 6/30 ( no response) and then reached on Friday by phone. She said i should hear back if our HR would approve it on Tuesday 7/5 but I've yet to hear anything. Does it typically take this long to get approved? Sorry if i am posting in antiwork reddit.
