I work for an aviation parts company, currently located in the warehouse. I joined 10 months ago into our Goods in department to a team of 3 people, 2 on a 8:30-5:30 min-fri (including me) and 1 on a 4 on 4 off shift dealing with around 4-500 incoming boxes a day. I made the decision late April to apply for a job in the office at the same company, and got the Job on the 10th may. I followed the correct process, at least I think I did, by telling my manager prior to applying and keeping him in the loop with everything. My manager told me, which I politely understood, that it would take longer for an internal move as it often requires your position to be replaced before you the move can be completed and that it shouldn’t be to long. Fast forward to today, there are now 2 extra 5:30-8:30 employees in my department and 1 extra 4 on 4 employee (on the opposite shift) and I’m still being told that a replacement is required. They have started putting me in the office 1 day a week which came into effect last month but this is totally useless, I forget most of my training by the next week and I find it makes it difficult to adjust back into the warehouse. I can’t help but feel like I’ve been taken the piss out of. It’s taken nearly 4 months to complete my move, I’ve lost all interest in the move and my productivity has plummeted in my current role. I don’t know what action to take if any but I suppose some validation for my anger would help. Needed to get this off my chest, I may be overreacting and if I am this would be helpful to hear.
