So my job is very niche. I essentially single handedly manage the 3d printing division of a tech startup. It's only me working about 15 3d printers. I also do R&D by designing 3d models for both clients and our own use at the company for different products and machines. In addition I also help build these machines and products since our company is divided into two offices and the office I'm at only has me and the head engineer.
At the moment I get 20 dollars an hour working full time which isn't bad but i obviously want more. The issue is that I have no idea what the pay of what I do should be. This is such a niche position i can't seem to find any resources or other people doing it so I can't compare wages with anyone.
They're a really new business so it's my belief that sticking around as someone whose “been here since the beginning” is going to pay off eventually. My bosses, the other workers, and the CEO are all really nice people.
I'm in a position where I don't want to leave at all, i love the job, and i have the leverage of knowing that finding someone who can replace me is going to be extremely hard for them. But, then again, I don't know what i should use this leverage for since i have no idea what i should be getting payed. Can anyone help me??
