I have been working in this company (An ecommerce platform) as a live chat representative for more than a year now, the previous WFM (Workforce Management) was chill, never had any problem with him, however the new WFM is not very good in communicating.
On 12/9/22, I messaged him saying that I have a diarrhea and that I will not be able to come, he responded with a message saying that he has adjusted my scheduled off day and I should come tomorrow, I saw the message but didn't reply.
I didn't come to work for 7 days after that, and in between those 7 days, I never informed them about my condition, so the WFM called me on my number on the 4th day, my mom picked up and told him that I am not well, and the doctor has given me 5 days rest-cure, later, a team-lead contacted me, and I didn't receive their call and didn't give them a call back.
Now, I was never actually sick, I just wasn't in the correct state of mind to work, but the WFM would have never understood as it has happened in the past, so I faked being sick, but my actual fuck up is that I started avoiding them instead of being assertive that I have xyz medical condition.
Now, I went to work on the 8th day, 19/9/22. The team-lead asked me how I was doing, and have I brought any medical certificate, to which I said that I didn't, he left. The assistant manager came and asked me to apply offline status, I did, he took me to the HR where the assistant manager, team-lead and I was present along with the two HR representatives.
Thing to know: NCNS (No call, no show) is a term used when an employee doesn't come to work and don't inform the operations about it either.
We had a session with HR where I was asked what was happened to me and why did I not inform them about it. I told them, I had diarrhea and that I had informed Sam (WFM) about it, but later at night I started getting fever and wasn't feeling well, my mom took to me to this Clinic and the doctor said that I have symptoms for Dengue, so he wrote me some tests, but my family decided not to do a test and I should rest instead, and so I did. HR asked me why did I not informed the operations? To which I said that I accept my mistake and I should have informed them but I did informed Sam about my initial situation and I thought, since my sister is also a working person, she might have informed you on behalf of me, and later my mom has told me that I got a call from office and she has informed them about my condition so I thought, operations knew about it, and about the call that team-lead had given me, my mobile phone was not with me and it was with my mom, I was not using my phone for 3 days straight started from 13/9/22, and I got it back on the 5th day from my mom so I saw the call but I was super anxious and didn't knew how to proceed and handle the situation so I didn't gave the team-lead a call back.
HR asked me to share the medical documents as soon as I get back home from my shift, I prepared the fake ones, so it took some time, and I sent it to the WFM. Later at the same night, the WFM messaged me saying that “Hi, please don't come to work tomorrow, the HR will coordinate with you over the call.
The HR called me today morning saying they will send me a show cause letter, and I should respond to it asap. They sent me the Show Cause PDF in the evening at 4 o'clock.
Now, the situation is in front of you all, and I need help with the response on how and what I should I write them back to I don't lose my job, because I still need it to pay some debts and to save enough money to buy a new laptop so I can do something on my own and I can no longer need to work for this company.
Thank you so much!
