How to act like I want this low-paying job in a group interview?

This is a really difficult thing for me to admit, but I’ve been job hunting for several months to no avail because my expectations are “too high.” In order to afford to pay off my student loans and put my kid in preschool, I have significantly lowered my standards in the type of work I’m doing and the pay expected. I’m just not landing interviews, despite my CV and resume being excellent, cover letters being tailored to each position and company, having multiple recommendations, et cetera. It’s exhausting. How do I do this? I am technically overqualified for this position, I won’t be making the money I really need to be making, but I am running out of time and energy. How do I put on a happy face and outperform other people in a group setting (other people who also badly need this job)? The whole thing feels gross and performative.

EDIT: Y’all, it’s not an MLM. It’s working for a school district. Trying to be vague since I’m actively interviewing and would hate for a potential employer to somehow connect dots and realize it might be me. I appreciate you all looking out for me!
