How to deal with a lazy colleague?

I provide admin for a three people – two assistant psychologists and a manager. From the beginning of my post one of the ass psy does the bare minimum and no more. The staff who do the same job as him that started after him already are 100 times more organised and helpful than him. The problem is the knock on affect it has on my workload. I end up doing time consuming tasks to fix his lack of attention to detail. Last year 5 days before Christmas I ended up having to trawl through pages of HIS spreadsheets to fill in information as well as carry out my million other tasks. I’ve raised the issue with management multiple times. They will sheepishly remind him to keep on top of stuff but it always ends up going back to the same thing. I feel like he is very much aware…

I feel like he is very much aware that his game is to do the bare minimum and act stupid as to not have to do more.

If I remind him or ask him to do something even if it’s from managements he doesn’t listen. He has to be categorically told to do something by a manager to have any chance of him following through.

How would you deal with someone like this? I constantly think ahead and organise things as to keep the whole team right and cover myself but sometimes I feel like I’m the only one taking on all the real leg work. I can predict what will happen down the line if I don’t pick up the slack.

Any advice welcome as to cover myself enough to do my part but kick him up the ass! Lol
