How to deal with the worst boss I have ever had?

What is the best way to deal with this shitty work situation? There’s a lot to unpack here so I’ll bullet point to try to make it easier. Been at job (small business) 6 months. What is the best way to deal with this shitty work situation?

There’s a lot to unpack here so I’ll bullet point to try to make it easier.

  • Been at job (small business) 6 months. I am currently the longest serving employee after everyone else was either fired or quit after being bullied by the boss, slowly taking on more and more responsibilities with no pay rise.

  • Frequently covering the shifts of lost staff members and working 15+ hours overtime per week, at my normal (low) wage

  • I have been training the three new staff members who have been hired to cover the people who were fired/quit

  • We are coming up to the busiest time of year – literally every business in town is looking for staff, you could wander into any business and walk out with a job – and suddenly the boss is scrambling for staff

  • One of the new staff members who I have just personally trained up has decided to quit because the environment is so stressful. In a desperate bid to keep them, the boss has offered them $3/hr more than me, plus a $800 bonus if they stay over the busiest period.

Obviously, I should quit, right? Well, I have a surgery in 3 weeks, and I need to be employed to get paid leave (from insurance, not the company). The boss doesn’t know I have this yet, or that I’ll be out at one of the busiest times of year for three weeks.

So what do I do?

  • Quit without notice (I have no notice period) at the busiest time of year, just to screw them over?

  • Tell the boss I’m quitting and will stay for an enormous pay rise, lock it in, and then let them know I’m off for surgery?

  • Any other creative solutions?

Honestly I don’t particularly need this job. The guy who runs it is a colossal bully so I don’t mind screwing him over. I just know I have the upper hand here and would like to get the most out of it as I possibly can.

Any help welcome!
