How to get over feeling guilty about not working?

This is a bit of two part question. First, I chose a career where I only work about 2-5 months of the year. I'm a welder apprentice so I bid for work on my union job board and go out for unknown periods of time. 10-12h days up to 24 days straight. So my work time is my work time. When I'm off I'm on EI, which pays more than my expenses if you can imagine. I just can't figure out how to deal with the guilt that people put me on when I'm not working. I used to do 9-5 I fucking hated it. No mental health, I hated work, I hate structured monotonous days… My job now let's me do new things every day at new locations. I'm comfortable, I have my emergency fund, savings, some debt but not a big deal, good benefits and I can afford…

I'm comfortable, I have my emergency fund, savings, some debt but not a big deal, good benefits and I can afford life so far.

How do you guys deal with feeling guilt tripped by society of needing a 9-5? I know I don't need a 9-5, I don't need one financially either…

Second part, so what hobbies do we recommend for us antiwork people? Gas is brutal so I'm not keen on big road trips and the little hobbies like reading, drawing or say embroidery is only interesting for maybe an hour of the day to me. I like learning new things, but not an expensive hobby like fixing cars or something. I'm not rich either. I don't have friends since they work 9-5… But I can't handle the monotony every day anymore. I thought about volunteering but my work is literally a day to day situation. I could get work tomorrow and be out a week later, I can't commit to long term stuff.

Cheers!!
