How to sabotage an employee

I had a FT remote job as an editor for a publishing company in Texas. For security reasons, I had to do all work on a PC they provided. Near the end of two successful and problem-free months, my manager sent me an email requesting a Zoom meeting with her. When we met, she said she wanted to review a document that I worked on and approved for publication. She shared her screen and pulled up the document in question. It was filled with misspellings, grammatical errors, and many examples of illiteracy. In addition, it contained racist language throughout. At the conclusion of our meeting, I sent her the following email: “I resign.” One year later, I still can’t figure out why I was undermined.
